As the rest of the u.s. fell back, we kept standing.

We are now 5hrs behind the East Coast and a mere 2hrs behind the West Coast.

Happy Halloween!

Tripple word score!

During our day with no electricity, we played 3 games of scrabble. Caitlin won the first, I won the second, and for the tie breaker, Caitlin started playing for real and gave me a real whoopin'. she got 3 bingos and had a score over 500!

truly amazing. and all done in the dark too!

What's Shakin' ?

We had an two earthquakes here in the islands yesterday. We're fine, nothing happened to us, or anyone for that matter.

They were off the Big Island but they measured in at 6.7 (!) and 6.0. I was in the process of waking up and the bed/apartment/house started to rumble. It was a good quake, and long, at about 15 seconds. the second wasn't as spectacular, but still big enough to feel (and hear). These were number 4 and 5 for me lifetime.

The power went out right after that, and didn't come on until midnight. So our day was spent puritan style with candle light (and head lamps) to guide our way through dinner.

hope all is well in your neck of the woods.
